“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’” (Acts of the Apostles 4:11 NLT)
This is another of the essentials of Christian life. Jesus was rejected by those he came to save. But if you are to make anything of your life, you must accept him.
Today’s proverb was a lovely one about how kind words are like honey. I really wanted to use that one, but as I’ve said before using a verse from Proverbs is the easy way out.
A cornerstone is THE most important one on any building. Without a good cornerstone, the building will fall down. Solid foundations are important, but even they will not save a building that has been put up without a proper cornerstone.
And the Christian faith is based on this: Jesus came to save us all and he was rejected.
Is a reject a good basis for a religion? In this case, yes.
