“It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom.
But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:22, 24 NLT)
In this case, Paul (who was himself of Greek heritage) is talking about the followers of other faiths and those of no faith.
In nothing cases, they seem destined for disaster!
But verse 24 offers a way out. God’s message is for all. Paul has a lot to say in this chapter about not using clever words. Something I’m glad about. A lot of what he said in the Book of Romans was way above my head! So he is saying it plainly here:
Follow Christ and you will find power and wisdom. That might be hard for some. Impossible, even! Or is it….?
