Day 303

“Let them turn the other cheek to those who strike them and accept the insults of their enemies. For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever.” (‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭30-31‬ NLT)

This is one of the verses which gets shortened and reused in the New Testament. In the verse we all know, Christians are told to “turn the other cheek”.

But here we have the other part of that verse. If we are strong enough to turn the other cheek and forgive our enemies, the Lord will take care of us. But this wonderful reward falls flat if we don’t believe in him.

We need to believe and trust in something we cannot see. That doesn’t always come easily.
