He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed. (Daniel 7:14 NLT)
This is unconditional. It is stated here as a fact. The “he” that is mentioned is described as the “son of man”. Jesus described himself as the son of man. His kingdom will never end.
But that doesn’t depend on the followers, it just IS.

Then they told the king, “That man Daniel, one of the captives from Judah, is ignoring you and your law. He still prays to his God three times a day.” Hearing this, the king was deeply troubled, and he tried to think of a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.
So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him, “May your God, whom you serve so faithfully, rescue you.”
Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions’ den. When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel answered, “Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.” The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God. (Daniel 6:13-14, 16, 19-23 NLT)
Classic Old Testament story!
A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty. (Proverbs 28:19 NLT)
The blameless will be rescued from harm, but the crooked will be suddenly destroyed. (Proverbs 28:18 NLT)
A wicked ruler is as dangerous to the poor as a roaring lion or an attacking bear. A ruler with no understanding will oppress his people, but one who hates corruption will have a long life. (Proverbs 28:15-16 NLT)
Or is your ruler heading for a long political life?
What did you vote for? Who did you vote for?
“Please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water,” Daniel said. “At the end of the ten days, see how we look compared to the other young men who are eating the king’s food. Then make your decision in light of what you see.”
At the end of the ten days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the food assigned by the king. (Daniel 1:12-13, 15 NLT)
So a vegetarian diet got Daniel out of trouble there. Not only that, but he thrived on it!
I knew the story of Dem Bones from Ezekiel well, but I was surprised to learn that the story of the bones that came back to life was only one chapter in what turned out to be a long book.
So I am happy that the book of Daniel has got off to a good start.
Can’t wait for the lion with the thorn!
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. (1 Peter 3:7 NLT)
